Alex was born in Maria Alm and is a trained chef. He started his cooking career at Hotel Gut Brandlhof, worked at his parent’s restaurant, and spent a year at restaurant Mario Lohninger in Frankfurt. Before opening Foodwerkstatt, Alex spent 12 years as sous chef at the Hotel Übergossene Alm in Dienten.
Opening Foodwerkstatt made his dream come true: to run his own restaurant in the way that he always wanted. He loves to cook seasonal and regional meals.
